Sustainability
We’ve championed sustainable practice since day one. From using ethically sourced precious materials to exploring the cyclical nature of jewellery, we believe our designs have just as much power to do good as they do to look good.
Our four pillars of sustainability
Conscious design & recycled materials
Our jewellery is designed with sustainable materials in mind. From exclusively using real pearls (which require pollution-free environments) to re-crafting our best-selling designs in recycled gold, our approach prioritises longevity and responsibility.
We craft all our jewellery exclusively in recycled precious and semi-precious metals: solid sterling silver 925, and solid 9k, 14k, and 18k gold, ensuring each piece is made to last.
Responsible sourcing & manufacturing
We believe in authenticity and transparency. Our diamonds are Kimberley Process certified, while our gemstones are handpicked from trusted and reputable sources. This allows us to trace nearly every stone to a country of origin, and in some cases, a specific mine.
We are dedicated to providing safe working conditions both locally and overseas. Our artisans receive personalised care and support, including assistance with childcare.
Every year we visit our international teams to strengthen long-standing relationships built over the past 40 years. Jewellery is designed in our Notting Hill atelier and manufactured overseas with established workshop partners.
Our key supplier is committed to recycling and filtering rainwater, using solar power, and is now operating as 100% carbon emission free.
Philanthropy, diversity & inclusion
In 2018, we launched our Suffragette collection in support of Women’s Aid. Since then, we have helped support the development of a live-chat system, enabling women in need to communicate safely and discreetly.
We also work with local charities, schools, and community initiatives wherever possible.
As your local jeweller, the goals of our community are our goals. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace, free from discrimination. We aim to ensure our workforce is representative of society and that every employee feels respected and supported.
Circular thinking & future proofing
From remodelling treasured heirlooms to resetting antique diamonds into new designs, we breathe new life into pre-loved jewellery. By using only high-quality materials and gemstones, we ensure our pieces are made to last and passed down through generations.
At Dinny Hall, we believe a diamond’s greatest value lies in its memories.
Our environmental impact & improvements
Care for life
Where possible, we prioritise repair over replacement. Our customers are customers for life. We refurbish old designs where possible and also rework heirlooms into new, wearable pieces.
Packaging
We have significantly reduced single-use plastics by removing them from our gift boxes and carrier bags. Our packaging now uses recycled cardboard pulp and FSC-certified paper and is fully recyclable.
