Jewellery Care
All our jewellery is crafted for comfort and longevity, but it will always benefit from regular care and mindful handling. Below is a simple guide to help keep your pieces in excellent condition.
Jewellery Care By Product
Earrings
Store earrings in their box or pouch and, where possible, separately to avoid scratching.
Ensure butterfly backs feel secure when fastening and avoid wearing if loose. Click hoops should audibly click when closed.
Clasps may loosen over time with wear, which is normal and can be adjusted. Avoid snagging on hair, scarves or knitwear.
Necklaces
Store with clasps closed to prevent tangling. Avoid pulling delicate chains.
Stones can be cleaned in warm soapy water using a soft toothbrush.
Wristwear
Store with clasps closed to avoid tangling. Avoid pulling chains and ensure clasps are secure when wearing.
Clean with warm soapy water and a soft toothbrush.
Rings
Remove before heavy activity, cleaning or exercise. Avoid knocks and friction on hard surfaces.
Clean with warm soapy water and a soft toothbrush.
Engagement rings should ideally be stacked with bands of the same alloy to reduce wear.
If a stone loosens, contact [email protected] or visit a store.
Jewellery Care By Metal
Silver & 18k Gold Vermeil
925 silver contains 92.5% silver and 7.5% alloys. 18k gold vermeil is sterling silver plated with a minimum of 2.5 microns of gold.
Both metals are durable and suitable for daily wear but may naturally tarnish over time if left unworn. This can be removed with a polishing cloth or silver dip.
Stacking with other metals may increase surface wear due to friction.
To remove tarnish at home:
- Line a bowl with tin foil
- Add baking powder
- Place jewellery on foil
- Pour boiling water and leave 2–3 minutes
- Rinse and dry thoroughly
9k Gold
Made from 41.7% recycled gold and alloy metals, giving a slightly paler tone.
May tarnish if left unworn for long periods. Avoid direct stacking with silver or plated jewellery to reduce scratching.
Clean with warm soapy water and a soft toothbrush. Silver dip can be used if needed.
18k Gold
Contains 75% pure gold and is suitable for daily wear.
As a softer metal, avoid direct stacking with silver or plated jewellery. Minor surface marks may occur but can be polished out. Clean with warm soapy water and a soft toothbrush.
Platinum
Our most durable metal (950 platinum).
May naturally dull over time but can be professionally re-polished to restore shine.
Jewellery Care By Gemstone
Diamond & Sapphire
Extremely durable and suitable for daily wear and stacking.
Clean with warm soapy water and a soft toothbrush. Avoid build-up from creams or perfumes.
Emerald, Tanzanite, Opal & Moonstone
Softer stones that require extra care. Avoid knocks, chemicals, water, swimming and cosmetics.
Clean gently with a soft cloth and mild soapy water (do not soak emeralds or opals).
Remove before physical activity.
Pearls
Avoid water, perfumes and creams. Store separately to prevent scratching.
Pearls benefit from being worn, as natural skin oils enhance their lustre.
